Time to walk away and say thanks...
It has been a great run with the Civilier. I can honestly say it has been a blast. Over the past 8 years, I have met so many wonderful people and traveled to so many wonderful places. Okay, some of the places have been not so wonderful, but we made the trip none the less! There have been a lot of ups, and several downs. But it was all worth it.
In the 4 years I had shown the Civilier, she has taken home about 40 awards from such shows as Hot Import Nights and Darknights as well as both the Ontario and US J-Body Bashes. She has been featured in a few magazines including Speed Style & Sound and Performance Auto and Sound. She was featured in an article on the sport compact scene in the Detroit Free Press, and now she will be making her big screen debut in the movie "Crossover" which was filmed here in Detroit.

But like I said, I have also seen my share of downs. Most notably would be blowing my engine on the way down to St. Louis for the 2003 J-Body Bash. Later that year, after the Nopi nationals, I was driving down the expressway and had the driver side front hub assembly and hub nut break leaving my brake rotor the only thing holding the wheel on. Going 75mph on the expressway with my brakes rubbing caused quite a bit of friction which started a fire in the wheel well. Thank goodness for that APC fire extinguisher! Okay, maybe 2003 was just a bad year.
Through everything, one thing remained constant... the people. Meeting all the great people we have over the years has been the best part. Going to all these shows we have met so many people it's honestly hard to keep everyone straight. From all the fun times hanging out in Myrtle Beach with e
veryone at the Pre-meets, to all the crazy Canadians. From J-BOM to Redline and the people from Xceedspeed. And even those who may have thought my car was rice... especially the bikers down in Myrtle Beach who thought we should buy American... All the fun times we have had have truly made the run memorable.
I've got to say thanks to some people; Brett Cohagen, Jeff Bruce, Andy Murrell, Todd Miller, Jeremy Harrington, Karo, Matt Teske, Kevin Richter, Steve Borgman, Tom Limpo, Rojea Benedicto, Kelly Withrow, Tony S., and Todd Lamb. Most importantly, I have to thank my loving wife, Christina. She has put up with all this car stuff for many years now. I'm a lucky guy.
